I remember the days of going into a night club and it was 70s DISCO night! I would dress in a suit, just so I could get in, but most people wore bell bottoms and Afros. They also wore those silky, shiny, circled long sleeve shirts.
"Disco is music for dancing, and people will always want to dance." ― Giorgio Moroder
One of the best movies was Saturday Night Fever from 1977 with John Travolta. John plays a guy who is not going anywhere with his life, but one thing he has is dancing. He's a great dancer and his life gets pretty intense, when he hits the dance floor.
Nobody was moving and grooving like Travolta in this late 70s movie. Today, many may find the movie laughable and absurd, but I still think it's a great movie, that shows DISCO was not all terrible.
In fact, you can have your own 70s party and play the Bee Gee's Stayin' Alive. And let me just say, that Stayin' Alive is a classic. The lead singer (Barry Gibb) could hit those high notes (like someone kicked him in the family jewels) and send you to another world. The man's voice was amazing.
Now if you are having a DISCO party, you'll need lights. Not the junkie ones they sell everywhere online, but the really good ones, the high rated babies ― something with an almost 5 star rating!
Let me tell ya, you deserve what you settle for, when you just buy the first or second thing you see on Google! I've made this mistake myself. Research and investigate your products wisely!
