Dead or Alive - The Choice is Yours is An Astounding Gift!
When it comes to self-defense being aware is vital. Geoff Thompson has the experience and the know how to deal with violence and shares ways to be non-violent. One must know as many options available as possible.
Here's a quote from the beginning of the book, "Learn from nature: how often do you see the mouse playing by the hawk's nest?" ― Sensei Harry Cook
Personally, my background is Kung Fu, and I was blown away by this guys information. There are some good videos with him on YouTube as well. Anyone who has been in a real fight, knows it can be over in a short amount of time. Martial arts can teach you discipline and techniques, but in a street fight, you need to know yourself. You need to know your mental weaknesses, and Geoff Thompson dives into those areas like no one I've ever read or seen. This book is the ultimate gift for a friend or a loved one.
100 Deadly Skills: The SEAL Operative's Guide is a Wonderful Birthday Gift
I was looking around online back in 2015 and found this book. It has sold like hot cakes and there's a reason why...That reason is this fellow use to be a Navy Seal.
This is hardcore information, that many civilians desperately need to know. Without this book you are at an extreme disadvantage.
You never know what situation you'll end up in, and Clint Emerson's 100 Deadly Skills will help you out of some dangerous tight spots. He tells you how to use things that are around you, that otherwise you would overlook.
Things you can pick up almost anywhere in your surroundings. This book is outstanding when it comes down to adapting to your situation and surviving a brutal attack. It's awesome how he is revealing his knowledge and wisdom with those who need it so badly.
Street Survival Skills: Tips, Tricks and Tactics for Modern Survival is a Lovely Gift
This is a newer book on Street Survival Skills, but it's also a gem. Check out where this guy is from and you'll realize he was in the worst of it. The books I really get into are the ones where a guy shares what he has experienced and what he has learned from it.
This book is for someone who is new to self-defense skills and it will help lay the ground work, so you or someone you love has a fighting chance. It talks about bare hand fighting, improvised weapons and covers many other areas that are super important to know.
It's main focus is to get you PREPARED for violence. And it's in some ways, much like the other books, but from a different point of view, which I like, because you can never know to much. And of course, it's in those juicy details, that contain the gold nuggets. Remember, the ultimate in combat, is not to fight.
Jiu-Jitsu University is The Best Birthday Gift or Christmas Gift
Here's a handy book that will add great value to your self-defense book collection. As I got older, I realized that it is not just knowledge that is power, it's the right knowledge that is. Any fool can gain knowledge, but the wise have deep understanding.
The Jiu-Jitsu University is a book to help make sure you have a good handle on how to survive and escape with confidence. Jiu-Jitsu is one of those martial arts that I added on to my own Kung Fu training many years ago, because I saw first hand how effective it was in a training demonstration.
To me martial arts is more of a mind set. It took me years to get that through my head, because at one time, I was all about technique and speed, but lacked the insight, and relaxed manner I now have. Well, most of the time. Buy Jiu-Jitsu University for someone you know who needs to be more aware of how to protect themselves today!
Combatives for Street Survival is The Best Gift Ever!
I bought the DVD of this book, and Kelly McCann is fantastic! He has a decent rating online for his information, because this guy really knows what he's talking about.
His methods are brutal and very deadly. This book is a weapon of a particular knowledge, that HONESTLY cuts deep.
The reason why I feel so passionate about this guys information, is because it is simple, direct and to the freaking point.
I've learned flowery techniques in Kung Fu, that are effective, but in a street fight with more than one assailant, it is wise to use other tactics. I'm all for grabbing gravel or dirt from the ground and throwing it in someone's face, if necessary. To hold to just one system will limit you. Let Kelly McCann get you ready for the streets. In fact, give his book or DVD as a gift to someone you care about.
When the Fight Goes to the Ground: Jiu-Jitsu Strategies
Anyone who has spent many years learning martial arts and has been in some real fights knows you don't let someone get you on the ground. I got in a fight a long time ago and it went to the ground. It did not go so well and I was fortunate to get out of it.
When you're on the ground, you can get attacked from all different sides, by someone other then the one you are fighting. I've seen what happens to friends who end up fighting on the ground, and it's not pretty. One friend kept getting punched in the face, while he was held down on the ground.
The main reason I am mentioning this book is because it's a good place to begin and I know what it's like to be down on the ground. You'll feel helpless if you don't know what to do and it's better to also learn how to not get yourself in that situation in the first place, but if you are down on the ground, you've got to get moving quick, and know your simple hold-downs, chokes, arm locks, leg locks, and how to deal with multiple assailant scenarios. When someone pulls out a knife, do you know what to do? Get this book for yourself or someone you care about today! BE PREPARED!
